Dune: Awakening or Desert Vampire Simulator?
I’ve started playing Dune: Awakening and have some thoughts.
First off, the game puts a heavy emphasis on exsanguination. Honestly, it feels like a vampire simulator set in the desert. I get the sense the developers may have originally been working on an open-world vampire RPG, then decided to slap the Dune label on it for instant name recognition.
In the northern part of the map, you’ll find looming fortresses that look like they’re inhabited by vampires. Inside, you fight enemies who speak with Dracula-like accents. You’ll also hear screeches and howls carried by the wind throughout the environment.
That said, it’s addicting. I’ve already created a guild called “Starfleet Legal” and we’ll be aligning with House Atreides soon.
